Winter always turns to spring!
Hi friends,
I have been getting a lot of concern mail about the film. I write again to assure you all that the movie is complete & ready to see the light of the day. We were all waiting for the IPL to get over and the issues between the multiplexes and the producers resolved. It has never been easy for me to exhale :).
I remember in my 11th grade the brand Ray-Ban was really ‘in’. It was that time of the year when, more prominently celebrated in smaller towns, the festival of Makarsankranti (the festival of kites) was just around the corner. To fly kites through the day required staring into the bright skies. A pair of good sunglasses would come in really handy then. Most of my friends had their own pair of the sunglasses and I craved for mine, the branded – Ray Ban.
Also my first vehicles… my luna, my Yezdi, my first car…they were all delayed babies! I had to wait for them. For various reasons… but I had to WAIT!
In my late teens, when the branded Jeans started being stuck to the more happening youth of the city, I also desired my own pair of the ‘PEPE’. Around the same time, there was a rule passed on me, when I crossed my 18th year, that the Gohil household would provide the ‘now adult’ with only food, education, shelter & medication. All the frills & funk were my lookout. Growing-up-the-hard-way was the design. I promptly took up a job as a sales executive with Citibank Cards
DSAs. Purpose – That pair of PEPE jeans. The end of the first months’ hard work saw a decent pay pack, more than half of which went to the PEPE store owner. I was more than content. I experienced emancipation, pride & triumph.
In 1998, when I stepped into Mumbai with a bag overflowing with uncertain dreams, I faced almost the same ordeal. Different in type, but the same flavor. First finding a direction, then the wait, then the desperation, then a longer wait, grappling with the gestation… and finally … (phew) a positive result. Slowly I saw some work come my way and then better work followed. It was almost like I was tried in patience and taught an important lesson each time. Which was conveniently forgotten in the basking of the triumphant glory.
In one more similar phase, I am able to recognize, in its entirety, the workings of my Karmic pattern. I have never gotten anything easy in life. I have had to earn it. Work hard for it and then relish the fruits. The confirmed reoccurrence of this pattern also comforts me, as what follows a testing night has invariably been a beautiful, promising dawn. The winter always turns to spring!!
THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT! And I hope to look that bright dazzling future
straight into the eyes… through my own pair of Ray-Ban!!
Cheers,
Manav Gohil
My dad has luna, i drove a second hand scooty ;). But yes, never worked hard on earning anything, can be considered a pampered only kid of parents.
But when I found my boyfriend , who is my hubby now and been 4 lovely years of marriage.. I understand what is this waiting for the thing you want means , pains and pleasures of it.
When I was going through your post – Man, the very first paragraph made me feel – varsho thaya patang udadi aene, varsho thaya agaashi par besi ne sherdi khaadhi aene, varsho thaya jordar “tape” sambhadyu aene ( thats what we call in “kathiyavaad” ), varsho thaya tal sakri, mamra na laadu and undhiya bhar bapore agashi par jamya aene.. Miss it so badly coz we live now at pune.
But then came the serious things in ur post – Longing for something and getting it then.. Thats the part and parcel of ur life. Manav, preaching is so easy for those we do. But setting example is all together a different thing. You set an example, and those who will read this will sure get inspired and will have hopes that they will also get what they want but yes, trying is needed.
I have my hubby for whom things wont happen when they need to ( or when we think its the time for them to happen ) but they will definitely happen the way we want. A small example, He wanted to upgrade his cell phone but then his younger bro wanted one for him too, so he just got him new one and sacrificed the wish to get new for himself.. But then out of the blue, long awaited bonus was declared and he could get one for him. Happens !! And many a times, so yes, I agree – The pattern follows – At times ppl are not destined to get things when they WANT but GOD gives them those when they NEED it.
And if few things coz trouble, pain, misery – Just think – God knows I can handle it, he trust me that I can bear it and Hence he sent it my way.
[ Please moderator, let manav read my posts, i need him to read all of them ]
Well, he had it as his first scooter. I just by mistake did a typo – had nu has kari nakhyu ;).
Very well said from the heart. Brings a lot of positivity. Share more. Cheers:)

Being a bsg member I am surprised you are saying that you have to work towards the happiness in your life.As Sensei rightly said and you mentioned-Winter turns into spring!! Why to begrudge then?
You should be happy that you have the power of Ghonzon to help you and take you out of each and every problem in life.
Struggle makes you stronger and makes you grow and learn more.It gives you patience.Trust me its a blessing if you have it.
I am too struggle in my way but I base my life on my prayers. And I am sure alot is unsaid and well understood what I am trying to say.
I am earnestly praying for you and your happiness.I am eagerly waiting for victory post.Nam myo ho renge kyo!
A beautiful post. Good things come to those who wait. And some very good things for the very best. Hang in there bro, I can sense a change in tide very soon.
hi… good to see you doing something that you disliked all your life… READ AND WRITE!!!
Does your navy blue luna still have that ALITALIA sticker on it when you think about it?!
:-)
I felt the same, I never got anything easy, I had to work hard to get it, but than again, very few ppl get it easy, almost everyone I know had to work to get what they wanted. BTW I have no idea what is the movie that u’re starring in. Sorry I don’t live in India, hence I am not able to see trailers of up comming movies. Could you please write more about your movie.
BTW I`m a huge fan of you ever since I saw you on TV once. If friends asked me what kinda guys I like, I said someone who looks like Manav Gohil! Ofcourse i’ve grown since then and realized that looks are’nt everything, but I still get attracted to guys who look like u :).
I totally agree.., everyone goes through the 'wait' for something you really want. You have to want it enough.. & at times the wait has a bigger purpose. Reading through your experience helped renew my faith & not give up.
Looking forward to your movie.
